I had the incredible opportunity to lead the engineering team at Perch Club, a startup focused on building a purchase platform with a loan product, right from its inception. In this role, I:
- Led the development of an enterprise-level platform using Golang, AWS, Next.js, Redis, and PostgreSQL.
- Designed and implemented innovative technical solutions while aligning the team’s efforts with the company's business goals.
- Collaborated closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the product met user needs and maintained high performance and security.
Despite the platform showing promise, we made the tough decision to wind down operations after six months due to internal factors beyond our control. This experience, though short-lived, was invaluable. It reinforced my belief in the importance of adaptability, leadership in fast-paced environments, and the ability to pivot quickly when necessary. The lessons learned continue to shape how I approach new challenges and opportunities.
