What do you do when your family has 120 years of Ayurvedic knowledge, you have 8 years of pharma experience, and 101 million people in India still cannot get proper diabetes care? You build something. I am Abhay Gupta. Founder of Muditam Ayurveda. Fourth generation of a family that has been treating patients in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh since before India was independent. Studied pharma. Did an MBA. Worked in corporate health. Walked away from all of it. Here is what I found on the inside: diabetes care is broken. Not slightly. Fundamentally. 101 million people in India live with diabetes. Most were given a pill and sent home. No root cause work. No lifestyle guidance. No one asking why their medicines keep increasing every year. That is the gap Muditam exists to fill. Ayurveda backed by science, not just tradition. Built from zero. Bootstrapped for three years before raising our first round. Started from a warehouse in Himachal Pradesh and shifted to Delhi with a team that believed in the same thing. On LinkedIn I write about metabolic health, building a D2C brand in India, what patients have taught me, and what no one tells you about building a team from scratch. If any of that is worth your time, follow along.

Founder & CEO at Muditam Ayurveda, Apr 2022 - Present · 4 yrs 6 mos, Delhi, India, Diabetes management in India is fundamentally broken. 101 million people live with diabetes. Most of them were diagnosed, handed a prescription, and sent home. No explanation of what is happening inside their body. No guidance on what to eat, how to move, how to sleep. No one asking why their medicines keep increasing every year. The system is designed to manage a number. Not a person. Organs are silently getting damaged. The liver. The kidneys. The heart. Long before any doctor raises an alarm. Muditam Ayurveda exists because that is not good enough. Muditam is a full-stack diabetes management company focused on early-stage organ protection and long-term diabetes care. We combine natural supplements, personalised care, diet, and lifestyle modification to help people manage diabetes the way it should have always been managed. As a whole. Not a pill. Not a quick fix. A complete system built for the person, not just the diagnosis.
Business Analyst at PharmaACE, Feb 2019 - Feb 2020 · 1 yr 1 mo, Pune, Maharashtra, India, This is where I first got inside the pharmaceutical industry and understood how it really works. At PharmaACE I worked on competitive intelligence for some of the world's largest pharma companies. My work directly informed business development decisions, merger and acquisition deal analysis, and strategic pipeline assessments at the enterprise level. I analysed drug pipelines, clinical trial landscapes, and rare disease forecasts for Fortune 500 pharmaceutical clients. I tracked the J.P. Morgan Healthcare Conference for one of the largest pharma companies in the world. I built market penetration models and competitive reports across therapy areas including Ophthalmology and Pulmonary diseases. What this role really taught me was how pharma thinks about patients. Not as people with a disease to understand. As market segments with a number to manage. That realisation never left me. It is part of why I eventually walked away from this world and built something that puts the person before the prescription.
Marketing Intern at Delcure Lifesciences Limited, Apr 2018 - Jun 2018 · 3 mos, Jaipur, Rajasthan, India, My first step into the pharmaceutical industry. Spent three months on the ground doing doctor visits, field sales, market research, and competitor analysis. Learned how KOLs make prescribing decisions and what actually drives behaviour in a pharma sales environment. The kind of learning that only happens when you are in the field, not in a classroom.
Retail Store at Nawal Kishore & Sons - Ayurvedic Store in Nahan, Jan 2013 - Jun 2017 · 4 yrs 6 mos, Nahan, Himachal Pradesh, India, Six months. Four generations. One small store in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh. Before university, I worked at my family's Ayurvedic store alongside my father. And through my four years of pharmacy college, I kept coming back. Handling patients. Understanding their concerns. Watching what it looks like when someone actually listens to a person with a chronic condition instead of just managing their numbers. My father did something I have spent the rest of my career trying to replicate at scale. He treated the person. Not the diagnosis.
Summer Intern at Elnova Pharma, Mar 2012 - Apr 2012 · 2 mos, Nahan, Himachal Pradesh, India, Worked across Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and Production departments at a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility in Nahan, Himachal Pradesh. Gained hands-on experience in soft gelatin capsule manufacturing and developed a ground-level understanding of how pharmaceutical products are produced, tested, and cleared for market.
